Hey all!

This is a bit of an off topic but im looking some advice and folio has always been a place for guidance.

I am buying an animal from Isle of Man and contacting the buyer through mail. The money to be paid is for a pet flight courier from door to door costing 130.
There is a payment to be processed and im obviously not giving my bank details out over the web to a stranger. The guy is contacting the courier and giving details of adresses and pet details.

Before on folio32 ive read articles of TIPS as such to spot scammers, and a couple where looking for bad punctuality and spelling if im right?

Anyone have tips to make sure this is no scam?
The seller has gave me 100% details plus more but i dont want to fall for it!

Also, anyone know how to pay someone safely....im quite clueless- is there some way to pay through the bank or through a secure company to make sure i pay the person and receive the animal?

I would be grateful for help Smile

Thank youuu

Hi Stephen

Great photo - lovely poise, nice use of black and white, good 45 degree angle and perfect catchlight in the eye!! Maybe this photography thing is getting to me...lol

From fellow dog luver... Nigel

Haha..I didn't even manage to get him sharp Nige but I appreciate the comment nonetheless. He looks tiny in that image but he's actually a big bugger and he's still got some growing to do as his paws are way too big for him, unless he's crossed with a polar bear.
Hope you get what your after Louise...you'll have to do a shoot with the kitty in the handbag once you get it.

thanx guys! appreciate the advice! decided that im just not going to risk it for a biscuit! it would have been different if it was a tenner in from one account to another, but £130 ...DEFO NOT!
it was a persian white kitten, quite expensive but wee cutiesSmile
going to check out the cat protections and all tomorrow but its not the time of year for kitten litters...hate having no wee one strolling around the house!

yeah stephen im just getting the cat because the boys are a sucker for me prancing around town with a kitten in my handbag....eat your heart out paris hilton

Hi Louise

Be careful! I would take what Stephen and Shay both said to heart. Any online business worth its salt ought to have a paypal facility, that way both parties are 'safer' or have means to recover money should there be a problem.

I couldnt agree more about getting a rescued animal. I have a cracker black lab housed from the USPCA and know of people who have got homes for beautiful mogs too! If possible, save any hassle and go for a good old Norn' Ireland pet. Good luck anyway.

Louise, I'm not trying to be funny or smart here but if its just a kitten then surely it doesn't have to come from the Isle of Man. There's literally dozens of people and places over here selling kittens or re-homing centres with kittens literally crying out for a good home.
If its a specific breed of cat your after and can't get it anywhere else then I understand, but I just got myself a border collie pup from Assisi re-homing centre in Bangor a few weeks ago and it's been the best thing I ever did.
He came vaccinated, de-flead, neutered, licensed and insured all for a donation of £60.
He's a big hit with the girls on here too! So far he's managed to charm Jenna G, Chardae, STARR, Becca, Baberacer and Jinx!
Whatever you decide to do, I hope it works out for you and that you don't get scammed.
Stephen xx

Get their bank details and transfer the money. Or will they accept Paypal. Safest would be COD if that can be arranged
