New ring flash converter
Posted On 28/06/2008 15:32:51 by timcully

Well after a few months of thinking about buying the Bowens Ring Light Converter I bit the bullet and received it yesterday, I was expecting a much larger box and unit, though reviewing the picture on the bowens site it looks about right,

The unit seems well constructed although plastic and the steel plate for attaching the camera to the unit is strong and easily attached, Although the unit is supposed to be used without the modelling lamp attached, I ran it with morning with a small 60 watt bulb with no adverse effect, although this was for a shoot period, as I was testing the F stops a Bowens 500 would put out, more tests will follow when I get a model infront of it.

If anyone has had any experience with this unit or ringflashes in general I would be interested in hearing what they think, and how the units perform when used as an independent light source.

Tim

Hopefully pics to follow soon, if only I could get a model for tomorrow afternoon
