as most of the sites i use are car related forums they all have an 'introduce youself 'section where all new members can post in a little about themselves.  Just think it could be an intersting addition to the forum, as it give everyone a change to introduce themselves and break the ice with existing members once they join

To be honest, I wouldn't see any benefit in such a section in the forum. After all, there is the "ABOUT ME" section in each members profile. And that's a much better place to introduce yourself since it stays with your profile so anybody wishing to know more about you has it all there on your profile rather than having to go search through the forum to find an intro that could eventually become buried under all the newer intros. Besides, this is so much more than just a forum here. Sorry for pouring cold water on your idea
