Do all uploaded images appear on the homepage and if not why?

This is a curious 'why', not a 'fix it why' and I ask because I see images in the gallery that I am sure never appeared on the homepage (but I could be mistaken).

As only 3 images appear at a time, I suspect that if loads of us are uploading, the appearance time on the homepage would be minimal, depending only on whether or not a site user had loaded the page at an exact moment.

Yeah, but I hit the view more to see what I missed and I am sure there are still images that never appeared.

 

Whenever the site was first established I looked though all the images (there weren't that many) and now I check the home screen and do a view more. But occasionally while browsing I'll find images or galleries I have never seen. I suppose it makes browsing more exciting
