I’m seriously considering buying a fisheye lens for my Nikon D300. At this stage I have it more or less down to a choice of two – the Nikon 10.5mm and the Sigma 10mm. Both are 2.8, and the Sigma has the added HSM focusing. Apart from this the Internet seems to have limited customer reviews on these lens.

Does anyone have experience of either of these lenses or offer any advice please?

Thanks.

Before my jump to Canon I used to have the 10.5 Nikon. It was a lovely lens, as sharp as I had expected and gave some interesting images. If found that there was a danger of over using it an giving everything the same look. I don't know what is on your gear list but there are other lenses I would go for before the fisheye.

Thanks for the reply Matt.

I want a fisheye for a novelty and fun lens really. Already have mixture of main use lenses - Sigma 10-20 wide angle, Nikon 17-55 standard and Nikon 70-200 2.8.

Thanks for the advice on the Nikon fisheye.

I have the 12-24 1.4 Nikon with the D300.
Super lens and with enough range to give some variety
