Something that was mentioned in a mail to me when discussing the Eire Models thing... how much damage will this cause to the amateur photographer/model industry in Ireland? Do you think models will be more wary? How difficult will it now be to find new models to work with?

In my opinion, given that the "scene" already has a somewhat negative image in the eye's of Joe Public, I think this incident only serves to reinforce that misconception. If it makes models or potential models more careful in choosing who to work with, then that's a good thing, but if it results in "do-gooder's" coming out and taking a stand against the scene, then that's a step backward.

I think it will help wise up people to the crap out there.

Maybe there is a lesson for us all in it and our own collective responsibility to keep the advice and guidance high quality and a priority for new people.

But you know as well as I do, a couple months down the road and everyone will have forgotten ....and another scam will be underway!

The sad thing is it reflects on everyone...in one way or another.

On site such as this, very little if any damage at all.

However throughout the country the press and media coverage will I am sure only make the public even more cynical with anything concerning the industry such as it is here in Ireland.  It may well do more harm to the reputable agencies than the independant model/photographer as potential hopefuls will be all the more wary of approaching an agency because of the adverse publicity caused by the eiremodels scam. Only time will tell I guess.
