Pleading out to anyone who knows where I can 'locally' (NI) get my flash unit repaired? I dropped my Canon 40D, luckily it landed on the flash unit, but that didn't fair to well. The hot shoe has snapped slightly, where it slides into the metal part of the camera, and the tightening screw that secures it to the camera has been knocked out of thread so I can't even unscrew it from its orginal 'tightened' position.

Not really sure there is anywhere, you can check for sure on the Canon website www.canon.co.uk under support.

Fixation(London) is the place I send stuff I maul through sillyness.

If u are reguarded as pro semi pro u can sign up for cps I think u must have 1 pro ish camera and two pro lens I think

U get priority and u stuff is generally fixed and sent back in one week from canon uk ??

friend sent mine 2 years ago had fungus dirt in the sensor and they fixed it for FREE next time it cost 100 i think.

I doubt you'll find anywhere local. It's just not cost effective to have a local repair operation anymore these days. There is somewhere in Dublin that does repairs, but I'm not sure they could do this. They would most likely end up sending it on to Canon UK.

I'd be inclined to send it to Fixation UK as well. They're not the fastest, but most likely faster than Canon UK.
