This event is again taking place in Wexford from 18th to 27th July. I have today booked and paid for flights, accomodation and taxi transfers to and from Wexford and Dublin for model Danielle Davies and her Mother, photographer Marianne Davies. Dani will be shooting on Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th, in Wexford.

There will be a number of other models and photographers attending from the USA, UK, and Europe, as well as from Ireland.

The idea is intended as an international networking platform for Irish models and togs to meet other nationalities. The arrangement is generally based on TFP, with all parties gaining something, and there will be plenty of socialising.

Accomodation is available at cut price rates at Bugler Doyles pub on Wexford's main street. The studio is available for those who wish to use it. There are any number of stunning locations within a stones throw of Wexford.

Even though I am one of the sponsors, I will not be attending the event myself owing to other commitments.

So you may all feel free to make the most of the event. I hope at least a few of you will make the effort to travel to Wexford to meet our foreign colleagues.

Location: Wexford, IE. This is in the south-east area of Ireland, about 90 miles south of Dublin.

Having had the opportunity to shoot and be friends with both of them, I'd say that the trip to Wexford is well worth it for the opportunity to photograph these fabulously talented professional models. Dates: 18 July thru 28 July. You do not have to be there the whole time. This is a fun event, and shooting is mixed in with socializing and much learning. Having stayed the whole event in May of 2007 (I actually extended my stay by 2 days), I'd highly recommend staying for as much of the event as you can.

Transportation: Buses leave Dublin Airport coach park (about 5 min walk from baggage) at 12:30AM, 4:30AM, 10:30AM, 1:30PM, 4:30PM, and 5:30PM. The bus takes about two hours. One way fare is 19 Euros, and round trip (return) is 29 Euros.
Tim and his lovely wife operate a taxi service, so you can count on the best rate. If you arrange to arrive with other attendees, the trip will be much cheaper. Last year, most everyone's plane arrived within a few hours, and we all piled into the van when the last straggler got in.

Accommodations: Although not required, attendees are encouraged to stay with the group. This year, we return to Bugler Doyle's Bed and Breakfast. The B&B is upstairs from the Bugler Doyle's Pub, which is the social center of the event. Rooms are clean and well laid out. Breakfast is wonderful. Cost is 35 Euros per night per person, and you may or may not have roommates.

Event fee: There may be a small cost per day for attendance. We haven't worked this out yet, but may want to defer some of the model living expenses and other costs with a very small (probably no more than 5 Euros/day) event fee for photographers. Please let me know what you think.

Shoot locations: A studio is available courtesy of of MarcTwain1 (Tim). The studio is expanded, and now includes a change area. Studio time will be scheduled. Of course, the entire area is a wonderful set for photography, and trips will be planned. Wexford has an abandoned abby and a colorful waterfront. The surrounding area is filled with locations with both history and splendor.

Airfare/transport: Although you can select any transport you like, Ryan Air (http://www.ryanair.com/) has £10 flights from London, and similar discounts from other locations. There are passenger and automobile ferries from Holyhead and Pembroke, and also from France.

Release: Everyone attending agrees to the non-commercial release of all photographs taken during the event. The photographer will have the exclusive copyright for all photographs taken by that photographer. Photographers agree to release photographs for personal and portfolio use to the model(s) in the photographs. Commercial use of photographs must be arranged between photographer and model.

Underage: Models under the age of 18 years will be required to have a model release, pre-signed by a parent or guardian, presented to the event staff before any shooting. A parent, guardian, or legally appointed chaperon must be present at all shoots. Underage models will not be photographed nude or topless, regardless of permission.
