Well taste is always subjective. I think if you spend an afternoon browsing the showcase galleries on OMP, in general the shots are pretty terrific. Of course there are some shots I wonder how they get picked and others how they get missed, but as far as a general "mark of excellence" goes, I'd rate it as pretty accurate.
Every showcase I have received (apart from the most recent ones) has been accepted in various salons, so it has been useful as an acid test of quality.
As a site for networking and sourcing models, I find it next to useless, but I've also found limiting myself to only one or two profile sites has also been detrimental. Having an OMP profile and some showcase images makes on appear more legitmate.
