Is it really though? There's no denying that Tim's shot of Lindsay is a cracking image and to quote Gerald "I'm very jealous that I didn't take it..."
But just what are the criteria used in designating an image a showcase image on OMP? I've had one of my images showcased on OMP as well and it's an image I really didn't think was worthy of a showcase. What's more, I have another image on OMP which I feel is far superior to that one of mine they showcased and it didn't get showcased. It's not something I loose any sleep over, but it did get me wondering just how the select showcase images, particularly when one considers that showcases are usually awarded within a very short time of having uploaded an image.
Speaking of OMP, I'm seriously considering cancelling my membership. Of all the sites like it, it has been the least useful to me. I think it's become a victim of it's own success as there are now so many members on it that it's a real chore to search through and find anything relevant. On top of that, the site designers have created a site that carries a massive browser overhead making it slow and awkward to navigate. I much prefer the simpler designs of Net-model and Modelmayhem.
