What a very nice description!

Obviously using an almost-completely hidden piece of 'technology' I then had to discuss with a photographer I'd never met how I was supposed to hide the string!

Would have thought that the fact that it was an implied nude shoot meant that you could still be wearing one item of clothing whilst still giving the impression that you were nude. Unless of course the shot included an area below the waist (front or behind, doesn't matter) in which case said item of clothing would be quite obvious. But at that stage aren't you venturing into the realms of a full nude shoot? What exactly do people understand by the term "implied nude"? Is it that the model is fully nude at the shoot but certain obvious areas are kept discreet in the resulting images, or does the model wear lingerie but is shot in such a fashion that the final images give the impression of full nudity. Or is it both of these, or even something else altogether?

As you can imagine this was highly embarrassing for both parties, but he explained that this was actually very common. But it would have made so much more sense to be able to speak to a fellow model about it rather than a strange man!

I can see why it might be embarrassing for some people. Having said that, I work in an office where I'm the only male amongst 7 other females, and there's lot's of talk about female issues and to be honest, it doesn't bother me in the least

Oh how glamorous this work is haha

It's the end result that counts! One approach is to simply handle everything on a very professional level. I'm sure gynaecologists are nothing but matter-of fact when it comes to their work, just like mechanics are when it comes to theirs. The comparison may be a little extreme, but hopefully it makes the point. No reason models and photographers shouldn't be professional in their approach to what they do too!

As to whether or not there should be a separate forum for model to model talk I think is really up to the models to voice their opinion on. Must admit, it makes no odds to me. Would models want it to be a private password protected area? If so, who would police this to prevent unscrupulous users posing as models from entering? What about male models? Lot's of unanswered questions that need to be considered. Great to see someone thinking along these lines though.

"Would have thought that the fact that it was an implied nude shoot meant that you could still be wearing one item of clothing whilst still giving the impression that you were nude."

*So as people understand, this shot is in my gallery - I don't profess to be all-knowledgable in this industry but I thought implied nude does what it says on the tin - implies nudity? Therefore, although you can see neither my breasts nor my lower regions, you can plainly see I was nude. Wouldn't imagine it would have the same effect if you could see a g-string? The shoot itself was art nude in that there were images that were topless, but none that showed fully frontal nudity, which is why I didn't call it 'nude'.

"...it doesn't bother me in the least"

It may not bother you but there are men who (with every right) just don't like hearing the details of these issues. Yes, they are very professional about it because they have to be, but the point was it would be nice to spare them the details and speak to fellow models instead, particularly if you are new. It's OK expecting people to go around like pro's, but a lot of us on here are new and it's intimidating to deal with issues that photographers may be used to but, I don't know about other girls, I wouldn't even speak to my Dad about!

"Lot's of unanswered questions that need to be considered."

I think maybe you've got the wrong end of the stick with what angel-Eyes initially suggested. Photographers have forums for Photoshop etc which is obviously of no interest to me but may be extremely useful to them. I can go in for a nosey if I want but I probably won't. Likewise, the model section would be an open forum area that would probably be of more use to models than photographers. It doesn't have to be confidential we're not a doctor's surgery lol

As for male models, they would have certain topics that may also affect them such as skin conditions, tanning, etc and there may be more female orientated stuff. But that can't be helped when it's predominently females. It's simply another area for a different type of discussion I think?

Just a though, if there is a models only  section why not have a photographers only section too?

Sure the photographers have their fancy ''equipment'' section, i doubt you'd find many models lurking in there..
