I feel sometimes that the users on this site have a problem reading the Terms and Conditions that they have had to agree to, to become a member of the site.

Once a member you can not then debate publically any issues you have with the Terms and Conditions that you have agreed to.

If anyone has an issue with the site, either functionally or how it is run please contact an admin, I am here every day so there is no excuse.

I will remove any post that "scare mongers" any members on the site.

I am personally exhausted chasing my tail with some members.
I'm on so many other forums and I've never seen so much hassle on just a simple site.

Lets be honest its a photography site, you join up, meet people and post photos.

Hi Brendan,

We've swapped a few messages over the past while and I don't want to start a fight because you'd always been a gentleman.

But there was a forum post about nude photos earlier today and there was 20 replies.  A simple quote of the T&C's would have been sufficient...

Quote:
8. The owner(s) and moderator(s) of these website / forums / blogs will not allow any images of a graphic sexual content to be uploaded to our servers. This includes sexual depictions of animals, children, and hard-core images. Pornographic images of strong bondage / violence / suicide / gagging / torture / knives / guns are also banned and will be deleted immediately and reported to the authorities. We reserve the right to delete the images without any notice. If any site users discover such material, please use the contact us page and inform us immediately or report the image to a moderator. However, we appreciate that nude images are an important part of photography and do allow images of the naked form to be uploaded and displayed. We ask these images to be tasteful and any all images uploaded will be checked and removed if deemed too explicit.

As I read that forum post, there were two photos of models with weapons in the main gallery.  I wasn't offended but maybe it breached the T&C's.  There are quite a few photos of models with weapons (females + swords) so do the mods apply the rules evenly?

This site would be so much better if people actually made comments on photos.  If members made positive/negative comments, it would help members to self-select photos and reduce the burden on the mods?

Deleting forum posts only increases the paranoia.  Leaving those posts up and making fun of them (incl me ) would probably reduce those type of posts?

My 2c

Any photos that offend or members know are not allowed should be linked to any admin to look at and remove if required.

I do hate doing it, but I really don't want new members or longtime for that matter see some "in fighting".

I don't think anyone wants the site to look like that.

Better to give a clear interpretation of the rules as per the example above and lock the thread then to delete. Nobody learns from deleted information.

Better yet, put in a proper FAQ / Help section and update it as issues requiring clarification and interpretation arise. I started one for Paul (see the Help link at the bottom of the page) but it was never publicised or maintained.
