Charity Project

Ok a bit of a long shot, but I have a client Looking for four (tfp) models for a 2009/10 (Client to Publish) charity Calendar/postcard and themed poster project, would suit local models or models already visiting this part of Ireland. This will be an internationally published project in aid of ‘disabled angling awareness’ and proceeds going towards the provision of safety gear for disabled salmon fishermen from sales. Target sales market is Europe and the United States. THIS IS NOT PAID..... I HAVE DONATED MY TIME IN AID OF THIS PROJECT Its to aid disabled individuals benefit from a leisure activity most of us take for granted.

Shoot dates: ASAP

Location: Blackwater River alongside Lismore Castle – (Co Waterford)

Modelling levels: Nude (models will be wearing thigh-waders, sportsman fishing hat, carrying salmon net and 15’ salmon fly rod!) Shots will be tasteful

Note: it will be cold, you will get wet, but multiple breaks will be provided throughout the day (who said modelling was ever easy!)

Compensation: The client will provide a Set of hardcopy prints for your portfolio, hardcopy calendar, set of postcards and poster prints. In addition I personally would happy to work on a set of exceptional art nude/fashion/glamour location shots of your choice.

NOTE: (for Irish models) YES this will be published and made available for sale in Ireland as well as most European Countries and throughout the US. It may also be published in a variety of fishing publications. If participation may cause you unwanted family exposure DO NOT APPLY

To clarify, this project only suits models either living in Ireland or visiting this part of Ireland and want to help promote fishing for disabled anglers. There is no budget for a travel bursary, its not paid, it's for charity to provide safety gear for disabled anglers.

On the surface this looks like a not great deal, but for anyone looking to increase their exposure and become better known it's a great opertunity.

OK let me explain a little..... As some of you will know I am a mad keen salmon fisherman and this project is something I hold close to my heart.

For me its an opportunity to give back a little to those challenged by a disability where a physical or mental disability prevents them from enjoying an activity they otherwise wouldn’t be capable of achieving due to lack of resources, funding and opportunities?

One of the greatest hurdles faced by these disabled individuals is raising sufficient funds for leisure activities of any type, yes there are foundations set up to assist the disabled in many ways, sadly sporting activities are not so much of a priority and available funding goes elsewhere.

This is an area where we all can help resolve, yet most of us hide behind blinkers and more often than not pay little attention to, unless thrust in our faces. A few pounds donated here and there to ease our conscious hearts and a self-pat on the back and something I myself was guilty of in the past. So I took it upon myself to find out what more could be done?

Fortuitously I didn’t have to look too far as the fishing association I belong to has a long term goal to provide easy access to disabled anglers and have a passion to promote and encourage equal opportunities for those less capable through physical or mental handicaps to fish. Whilst the association has secured a new top of the range motorised whellie-boat that easily accommodates two wheelchair users and supporting staff. The association want to do so much more with the provision of a purpose built riverside boat house, complete with chairlift for easier access to the boat, floatation and survival gear, communication radios, toilet and shower cubicles etc (the list is endless) That however is the goal. Fundraising through a variety of projects, endless grant applications and finally the calendar project to promote a gaol.

Yes this will take time to come to fruition and has involved incredible hard work and endless negotiations over the past few years, much pleading and much arm twisting, but the association are getting there. The calendar/postcard/poster project is just the tip of the growing iceberg, but a route that will generate exposure to generate additional interest from interested parties/organisations? So for me I jumped at the chance to help where I could. I'm not a builder, I'm not a carpenter, nor am I an electrician, plasterer so when the calendar project was mentioned I knew this is my calling. NOW I'M CALLING YOU TO GIVE A LITTLE OF YOUR TIME TO AID THE DISADVANTAGED.

To date regarding the calendar project we have the following sponsors providing a service 'free of charge' to enable this project to get off the ground and up and running. (And still looking for more, just in case anybody pulls out)

All proceeds from this project are destined for a good cause. You wont get rich, you will incur a small personal loss but you will gain worldwide modelling recognition and invaluable modelling exposure. From little acorns grow bloody great oak trees?

so 2 understand 3 months for free for helping your client for charity ...i did helped clients for charity projects before even worked as a payd fundraiser and tutor for peace corp voluntiers ... and yes a have a degree in english ...that doesnt change the fact that i am a good model and enjoy what i do .. could you provide me please with more information ? dates every step of the way etc ... its hard but you will get it .. and as much as somebody thinks that i am crazy i think i would like to help to get this dream come true up and running ... you dont have any pm so my posting will appear here .. modelling sometime could help people not so fortuned as us ... its about beauty and celebration of beautifullness in our lives .. so why not take advantage of this ? please send me more info .... and i will decide myself ....

Charity work is the best. I used to do charity fashion shows for the Chernobyl childrens project.
I'd happily help out and wouldn't mind getting wet because i surf all year round anyway, but i don't do nude i'm afraid so that's me out..

After speaking to the clients this evening and With very little interest from the Irish model freelance sector (Too much of a long shot) This has now been opened up as a paid opportunity by the clients. Rates are as follows and non negotiable (set by the clients not me)

Ireland based Models
150-200 euro

Uk/European Models
250 euro + travel + accommodation and meals
