Thanks Ross ! Yup, she was an absolute gem of a model, really great to work with .. in fact she was diffiicult to keep up with at times - I had to try slow her down .. Great Fun though! :) Its pretty split oppinion accross a couple of forums on which image is strongest - I like the profile shot most myself - i have it without the heavy crop.
Thorsten - good tip on the frame .. I like that ;) ( actually gives me another idea :D - I'll give you a shoult at creative director when i shoot it :D) Point taken on the bangle and I I know what you mean about the nails .. I didn't spot them on the day but you can't miss it when editing the images .. I'll be on the lookout in future
Two great images and you seem to have nailed the exposure. A tip I picked up from Jon Gray when photographing models wearing sunglasses under a softbox like this is to hold a simple cardboard "window frame" in front of the softbox - it makes the reflection look less like a studio light and more like a window, adding a little more realism to the image.
I agree with earlier comments about separating the images, especially as they have the appearance of being joined at the elbow of the right hand image.
Two other points, although these are more personal nit-picks than anything else - (i) watch the bend in the arm and the bracelet in the left image as it's causing an unsightly bulge in the arm and (ii) be careful with hands in the image if they're not perfectly manicured (sorry, I realise I have now ventured into the realms of critiquing the model and not just the image, and that's not very fair).
Art - you are right - I would say the profile shot is much stronger and will probably end up as a solo print - i fu=ind these dyptych shots are fine nline - but unless they are actually for advertising the images in print compete with each other .
Nice images all round.........model expression is 100%.....love the pose to the right. Combining them is fine but personally, I think the one on the right would suit its own space better. I find my eyes wanting to see it isolated without distraction of the other one. Two really nice images though..
