Personally I've not had one "model" from here to send me a PM to ask to work with me, even on my CDFT offer. A workshop or some sort of group shoot could put faces to names and possible sort out those photographers who may have an alternative agenda. We did run some great Group Shoots before in Cookstown, Gosford and Galgorm from which I personally met photographers and models who I now look on as friends.
