These are heavy duty studio support stands. The cross bar which comes with them in three parts spans 12 feet and screws on the tops. The stands are very solid and heavy. The cross bar serves the purpose but ideally I would suggest a solid one piece made for a permanent set up. I dont use them and they are taking up space...the splay of the support legs make them too big for my space. They would suit a big studio area. Also a soft reinforced carry case for them.
