Irelands Next Top Model controversy
Posted On 11/06/2008 13:58:08 by ThorstenM

Interesting discussion right now on RTE's Joe Duffy show regarding Eiremodels and Ireland Next Top Model event. Worth tuning in to. Seems like all is not as it should be (no surprises there, to be honest, especially when EUR 300 is involved!)

This actually started yesterday on Liveline - just go to the "Shows from the past week" section about 1/3 way down on the right hand side and click on Tuesday (today's show will be there tomorrow). Once the sounds starts, go to about the 30 minute marker and you'll hear Joe Duffy quizzing the editor of the magazine.

Is that IMTA you're talking about? That was also discussed on Liveline a couple of years ago. As far as I know that's still going. Costs about EUR 6,000 to go to a big convention with the promise of contacts and contracts!

It's brilliance! The people get 6 weeks of "schooling" and a "professional" portfolio... so he actually delivers on the deal. No scam at all

He's still maintaining a TV company will be televising this in August 08 on a TV Station but has still not yet been agreed!

And maintains his models are guaranteed work through his agency, yet still not registered here. I am sure the tax man may just have a different version of the legalities of the operation

hahah i say we need a referendum!!!

What i want to call him i wouldn't even bother saying because i happen to be a lady!!

You'll find the operations manager will be deemed just another victim as far as the law is concerned, unfortunately I wouldnt be too surpised if the site owner is now sunning himself in the sun somewhere out of harms way or on the way now. If he's known and been in prison for scamming in the past the likelihood is he's stashed the cash and away with it before the authorities here in ireland can take action to recover scammed funds.

But I do hope you get your money back.

Michael i only attended the school on saturday so i hadn't even got my portfolio done with them.  I was speaking with operations manager today who is adamant it's all fake but im insisting on my money back which i was told it would be refunded to me.

This guy who apparently owns the agency has been in prison for 6months and banned out of the uk and Wales for scaming people.

Hopefully everyone gets their money back.
