My excuses
Posted On 02/07/2008 16:35:20 by SeanMcC

I'm supposed to have a shoot with Kim Bale tomorrow.

Now anyone that's seen me knows I'm ... .err.. fat. But, I've been going to the gym to try and loose weight. On Mon I did some bench press work, along with my normal bike/cross trainer/threadmill and stomach routines.

Unfortunately I can hardly bend my arms now.. So I've had to cancel the shoot. It sounds like a really bad excuse though! I can type okay 'cos it doesn't require tight arm bending!

I'm also going to the Saltess Saturday, so hopefully I'm a bit better by then :(

Dear god I've not had such a laugh in a long time at the plight of some poor unfortunate soul, cruel I know, but nothing wrong with taking the P

Bet you can still pick a pint though

Now now Lisa... fat is fat..

Weight is not so much an issue but losing body fat is. Calling it like it is might actually help me lose it!

Thorsten, at least when I've cycled nowhere for a while I can go a run nowhere for a while after

What a wimp, LOL. I think this should be included in the Pre-Shoot Advice thread!

In all seriousness, I hope you haven't done any permanent damage! I've just started back mountain biking myself with a similar goal in mind, but I intend to take it easy. No point in overdoing it and injuring or killing myself by crashing due to lack of fitness! Given my height (6'4") a fall from my 24" bike at any sort of speed is not a pretty thought. But still, it's better than cycling nowhere in a gym, LOL.

And at least now you know that's one excuse a model can't use for a no-show (never use the same excuse twice, right!)

And of course, keep those dmaged muscles moving gently or the pain will only get worse before it gets better!

- Thorsten.

LOL Awhhhh poor you! Sorry for laughing but Michael made me giggle

I'm sure there is a better word to use than...fat LOL Overweight maybe. don't put yourself down!

No it's a good excuse but you know it depends on the person- who justifies what a good excuse is or not? What you may think is a valid reason may not be a good excuse to the next person. But if you can't lift your arms or hold anything then I suppose what can you do really? A model wouldn't want you to turn up to not be able to shoot her correctly or be in pain whilst doing it?! Your health is the most important.

Do you normally do weights as I would have thought if your trying to loose weight you would be better off just concentrating on doing cardio until you achieve your ideal weight (or target weight) then start to build up on your strength and muscle definition. Muscle weighs more than fat....! I was going to the gym religiously for a few months about 3times a week but have had to cut down as for some reason I keep loosing weight- even though I made a conscious effort to do a little cardio to improve fitness and weights to build up my strength and weight (as I would like to stay at my weight of 8st).

Just be careful Sean, you don't want to overdo it too much and do yourself real damage (or take a heartattack LOL)

Take Care
Lisa
