Makes no difference to me if a model has experience or not. It's really up to those that want to attend. I'm just trying to coordinate something and get it off the ground. It's as much about being a social event as it is about doing some serious photography. As far as I'm concerend, this is open to all levels of ability because we can all learn something from each other and have a bit of fun doing so.

I agree - but you can't deny having some models there would add a lot more fun to the whole event.

I thought there was good response from the model. It does not always have to be a female model. Any of the togs can take turn modelling. Those a little concern of their looks can don on a gas mask and we can have a strobist look to the whole shoot!

Well yeah, I guess it would. Are you looking for experience models or can it be just any ol model with an interest?

Aside from fixing a date I haven't done anything with it yet as I figured it was just a little too early to start planning. But I do intend to begin proper planning in earnest at the beginning of next week. My biggest concern is whether or not there will be sufficient interest from models.

Any word on the Cork strobist meet?

i like the sound of that, now all we need is a date a time and the cost of an MUA... hehe

The MUA will make a huge amount of difference. It would save me time applying make up on photoshop which is actually pretty tedious work. We can do were wolve transformation but I think it would be cooler if we do stuff that works on the psyche. ie on themes of fear, paranoia, terror under the guise of were wolf shoot. ;-)

I hadn't planned on going to any of the workshops, except perhaps the Event Photography one. But they're basically just promotional talks for various products and usually a waste of time, in my opinion, especially Guy Gowans!

I'll be there from 10 am to 1pm myself. Mostly will be browsing trade stands I guess. Are you attending any of the seminars?

Not that I know of. I haven't formally arranged for anything myself although I gather some other "folio'ites" will be there. It would be a good opportunity to put some faces to names so to speak. I'll be flying up from Cork early in the morning and back down again that night, so ought to have plenty of time for a "meet and greet".

making my body black is easy.. all we need is either charcoal/oil, anything black.. if i have to i'll smother myself with crayola! I was thinking of a sequence of shots like human - werwolf form showing different stages? It was actually your shots in the ruins that got me thinking of it.. and then Carol as well.

i do realise theres isnt much of a market for the likes of fantasy but it would be good to show i can diversify?

think it would be worth hiring an MUA? i'll cover the cost

Are you into fantasy stuff? Humanoids would be easiest to do. I'd like to do a werewolf but I don't know about adding the hair. Have to think how that. vampyres are easiest to do. any other humanoid stuff? gargoyles are possibility. wings will need to be photoshop in tho.

yea definitely! i was thinking along the lines of werewolves, vampires, gargoyles, even had a thought of a minotaur but it would probably be way too much work and i'd get lost in the photo after it had been edited as i know cow heads arent readily available lol

i want to do something different to what i'm doing now which seems to be more fashion.
