Unexpected
Posted On 20/08/2008 06:22:18

Well, I've not been here quite as much as usual recently.

I launched my first set of for sale Presets for Lightroom almost 3 weeks ago, and we're still in the early stages, not quite hitting 'The Long Tail' just yet. The production of them was quite time intensive, as was the setting up of an e-commerce account. I also started to find out the odd things that paypal need from you when you actually have money coming into your account, rather than out of it. Educational to say the least.

I did post about another project on my Lightroom blog recently: HSWeb, a website in a gallery for Lightroom. Basically you select the images, do some writing and export a whole website. Well, I've taken it more than a step further with a fully customisable version with tons of features. It's been a hard slog, but I'm almost done and will have it online within the week hopefully.

As you may have seen I did post a few shots from what I suppose was my first 'Glamour' shoot. Being more of a beauty shooter, it was good fun, especially the shower...

Anyhow, off to bed after staying up way too late writing a User Guide.

My excuses
Posted On 02/07/2008 16:35:20

I'm supposed to have a shoot with Kim Bale tomorrow.

Now anyone that's seen me knows I'm ... .err.. fat. But, I've been going to the gym to try and loose weight. On Mon I did some bench press work, along with my normal bike/cross trainer/threadmill and stomach routines.

Unfortunately I can hardly bend my arms now.. So I've had to cancel the shoot. It sounds like a really bad excuse though! I can type okay 'cos it doesn't require tight arm bending!

I'm also going to the Saltess Saturday, so hopefully I'm a bit better by then :(

A cool vid for togs and models

My boss at lightroom-news is well known hair and beauty photographer Martin Evening..

George Jardine from Adobe shot a video of the Lightroom 2 book shoot and you get to see Martin and his models at work... it's great!

It's also worth getting the large version.

Lapse and time lapse
Posted On 20/05/2008 03:55:42

I've been in Mallorca for a few days... it wasn't really a holiday, but I did get some afternoon drinking in ;)

I was there shooting timelapes. More info at http://lightroom-blog.com/2008/05/panning-timelapse-using-lightroom.html

in the meantime check out: http://vimeo.com/1023202 to see one of them. I've a few more to upload as I get finished. I'll also be doing more of these locally soon.

I did try and hook up with models there, but no joy.

Sean.

Taking a beating...
Posted On 03/05/2008 03:17:12

Ouch. I just got back last months results in the SWPP monthly competition.. Mostly Bronze, 1 Silver and 2 U(nacceptable). 1 U is from a star trail that looks like 2 images tacked together, and the other is a style thing. ie they don't like mine ;)

On looking at the Golds, I'd better go for much more blur and soft focus next month.
