Annmarie
Posted On 03/11/2008 12:45:28

I know some frown on postive comments made about models who do their job when they have been paid to, but I've used 2 professional models who didn't come up to expectation.
I worked with Annmarie yesterday and it was a good day.  Despite a few things going wrong (my Bowens 750 dying), she was upbeat, chatty, patient, listened well and made the hours go by all too quickly.

Anyone meeting Suzeeee soon?

Anyone meeting up with Susan Johnston in the next few weeks?  Please PM if you are - I have a favour to ask.

Thanks,
Paul T.

Any MUAs interested
Posted On 27/08/2008 10:17:21

I'm doing a few 1920s style headshots on Sunday Sep 7th in Dublin.

While the model (an singer/actress) can do her own makeup and hair, we thought a MUA would be an advantage.  The fly in the ointment is I'm on a budget so I can't afford huge costs.
We reckon there's probably no more than an hour's work.
Anyone interested for some cash and maybe a few pictures?

Please email me privately.

DVD slideshows
Posted On 12/08/2008 22:19:43

I've used various packages to produce slideshows - Pics2exe, ProShow Gold, ProShow Producer, Adobe Premiere Elements.
Making an EXE file to run on a PC gives me the best quality as does an AVI file but when I try to create a slideshow for DVD (typically an MPEG)the quality hits rock bottom.
I've played around with all the settings to no avail.

Is there anybody out there who can get DVD slideshows to match the quality of an EXE file or AVI file?
Or is there another software package?

Is it the times we live in?
Posted On 22/07/2008 23:48:02

I'm having a moan.  I'm 60 and entitled.  I have grumpy old man status.

I know today is different from when I was younger.  I don't expect things to remain the same, in fact I embrace most of the modern day stuff and believe I am better off than I was and a lot better off than my parents were.
There are bad things.  Life is faster, more agressive, more consumer based.  Loaylty to one's family, job, etc. is not as important as it once was. Etc., etc., etc.

However "dissing" (disrespecting) someone is considered bad - I agree.  So why is that 4 people on this site, who appeared to be full of enthusiasm about working with me, suddenly don't respond to e-mails?

I wasn't rude.  I didn't suggest anything perverse.  I'm not of the "dirty mac" brigade.

I can only assume that one side has done wrong and I would like to fix it or correct it.
Or is that this is the way things are today?

Rant over.  But will it pass the censor?

Twilight Zone?
Posted On 03/06/2008 13:01:00

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.  Then again there are a few people who say I have always lived there .....

I logged on yesterday and noticed the number of pictures in the gallery was a few short of the magic 10,000 and I resisted the temptation to be the "one".  I also read (with interest) replies to Artward's blog on styles and rates.

Today, the number of pictures in the gallery has dropped back to 9982 and Artward's replies are gone!

Has this anything to do with Doctor Who's library last Saturday?  Are the shadows harbouring evil beings?  Have you got two shadows?

Leanne's website
Posted On 14/01/2008 23:21:20

Just finished beta testing Leanne's website (www.leannelurring.net) and it's pretty good.  It's great to see this kind of website being set up.

Keep up the good work Leanne and "Irishcory"
