Speaking of Suicide Girls

I had a funny thing happen today. I've been an SG member for ages. I've a friend who used some shots I did as part of her SG application, so that combined with a few togs work that I liked over there, meant that I joined. Not to mention that there was a deal for myspace members!

Recently I started posting in the photography forum and someone recognised me as being involved in Lightroom. His post was along the lines of 'Hey, I know you, not personally though. I don't mean to out you, but aren't you 'Lightroom Sean'?'

Out me? Should I be ashamed of being an SG member? While I don't strictly approve of their newer policies and will probably let my membership run out, I don't feel there's anything implicitly wrong with being a member.

Such an odd reponse to my self portrait!

Well it is indeed a funny old world....alright.

It is lucky for us that we have reasonable levels of creative freedom, I say reasonable as there will most likely always be restrictions like usage rights etc. With SG membership, deviant art and others  ... membership of an exchange medium with like minded individuals has to be good, ... the converse is also true if you do not like it then do not join.

With the SG policy change and letting membership lapse, this is a good approach if you no longer agree with SG policies as more often than not we can only really effect change in a democracy.

The self portrait is indeed well executed and presented, the hand position does lend an air of deep consideration to the image, although the first time I saw it I certainly would not have said iconic lol on further review I would now consider it worthy of the term classic.

Regards,  Tony
