New Scrolling Lightroom gallery with your own menu system
Posted On: 23/10/2007 17:17:36

While I'm not a great XSLT coder, I;ve created a simple scroll based gallery for Lightroom.

Because this is the first gallery that has an editable menu system built in, you could actually build a gallery based website entirely in Lightroom from it.

I mean if you load it in Lightroom. The controls let you set it however you like.

FWIW, this is now updated to version 0.1.7 and is still at the same link.

Do you mean it's part of the actual sample gallery? I didn't let it load completely at home because it took so long (dial-up) but had another look here at work and after letting it load fully I still couldn't see the slider you refer to.

Thorsten, if you actually load the gallery, you'll see the image gap slider from 0-100px. This was implemented by request. Pretty much everything in the gallery is user configurable.

Ross,

It's a gallery to add into Lightroom, to go alongside the native Flash and HTML galleries.  You choose the images you would like to go into the gallery, then export it and FTP to your website.

I had a look at the sample gallery and I like it. In fact there are a few photographers that use a horizontal scrolling gallery like this and I've always liked this sort of layout. I do find, however, that the gap between images is too large. I think 5 pixels would be a better size.

I'm currently looking at JAlbum as a means of building a gallery site for myself because my site is long overdue a remake at this stage. The lack of broadband has put me off though, as I prefer to do the updates in real time if I can.
